Take a tour of a historical Wisconsin Dells house and learn more about those who called this area home in the past. The Bowman House sits in Bowman City Park and was built in 1904. An example of Prairie Style Architecture, this structure was used as a vacation home for working women for nearly 40 years from the 1930’s to 1970’s. Today, thanks to the Dells County Historical Society, this Wisconsin Dells house has been beautifully restored, yet keeps a lived in quality. Antique furniture adorns the house, as well as items and memorabilia from local families.

Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the summer months from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., guests will be transported back in time while exploring the rooms. Find Civil War artifacts, uniforms, and pictures. Learn about the earliest settlers and Native Americans who made a life living in Wisconsin Dells. Take a look at The Bennett Gallery that features the work of an early photographer whose work enticed many people to the area. Other notable exhibits are about Lake Delton, the role of tourism here, fashion and accessories. The parlor, library, dining room kitchen, and bedrooms feature pieces from the time the house was in its prime.
